So, of course I like to share what I've discovered in case you are like me and enjoy taking photos with your phone as well.
Today I'm talking about the application by Microsoft, called Photosynth. Please refer to the website for the technical details, but in a nutshell, I use it to take panoramic shots and I love it!
What the app allows you to do is to focus on one aspect of your landscape, then move slightly right or left, snap again, then continue on to the third focal point and snap again. The app will merge all three photos together and autocrop if you like, into one larger photo. Here are some examples of photos I've taken using the application.
Honolulu Airport
Cosmopolitan Hotel in Old Towne, San Diego
The view from the Lavender Farm in Maui, Hawaii.
The view from Diamond Head Crater, Oahu.
The view looking down into Diamond Head Crater, Oahu.
I think you get the idea of where the app really comes in handy. Some other suggestions of potentially really great shots would be at a music concert or Broadway play, or really anytime you want to capture a large shot that reflects the grandeur of the landscape, whether it is a crowd of people or nature, itself. Anyhow, thought I'd share! Now go be inspired!
