Movie Trailers That Rock My World This Week!

It's no secret I love movies. And one of the aspects of being a huge fan of cinema, is the release of a teaser trailer or full length trailer. (Seriously, the best is seeing it before a film.) So here are a few trailers that make me a happy camper. (As of this week!)

The first trailer is for Snow White and the Huntsman. I absolutely LOVE dark fairy tales. I mean freaking LOVE. One of my favorites is Pan's Labyrinth, so you get the just of the direction I like for these type of films. SWatH hits theaters June 1st 2012.

Trailer 2 for Prometheus was released on March 18 and caused quite a stir for my sci-fi friends. It is their Twilight... And the trailer made the geeksphere quiver with joy. Yes, Ridley Scott has returned with what shall be a prequel to the Alien films. You know Alien scared the crap out of you! Don't deny you want to see this movie!! Prometheus hits theaters June 8!

Yesterday, the teaser trailer for Cosmopolis came out and to say that I wasn't excited, is an understatement. Having read American Psycho and Less Than Zero, I depict a hit of influence from Brett Easton Ellis in DeLillo's novel (I could be wrong, it just has that vibe to me). Either way, I'm on board for this crazy train that looks edgy, but sexy and psychotic.

And as of today, those are the trailers that have me excited for this summer.

Reminder: Bel Ami On Demand May 4th

Many of you know that Robert Pattinson's Indie Film, Bel Ami finally received a release date of June 8th. But, I thought I'd also remind you that it will be On Demand May 4th.

Personally, I love ordering my indie films on the IFC channel. The problem with waiting for its theatrical release date, is the fact that most of these obscure movies will be in very limited release, in selected theaters.

Not to say that will happen with Bel Ami, but I don't know about you, my theater that plays indie films, draws a heavy elderly crowd. Let me stress, I have no intentions of seeing an erotic film along side other people, let alone an older crowd that may shy from this type of drama.

True story - at the Project X advanced screening, there were a LOT of elderly people. The lady in front of me didn't even know what the movie was about. Then she asks if it's a horror movie! WTF? Of course the movie opens with Two Live Crew's "Hey We Want Some Pussy". Yeah, do you know how embarrassing that is? It's like having your grandmother with you. Gross... No thanks.

So the point of my story is to check your local cable listing for On Demand films and keep an eye out May 4th for Bel Ami!!

For those not familiar with Bel Ami, here's some information related to it's content.

Bel Ami (2012)
Rated R - 102 mins.

Based on the novel by Guy de Maupassant, the story chronicles the life of a young man's rise to power by manipulating Paris's most influential and wealthy women. (By sleeping with them! Ok, I added that.)
