To be honest the death toll was shocking. I have to admit I was a bit sad when Marnie/Lafayette stabbed Jesus. I sorta liked Lafayette having a love interest. Jesus is one of the additions that had tons of potential with his practice of dark magic. I’m panda sad. RIP Jesus.
A coworker of mine asked if Lafayette now possessed the dark magic since Marnie inhabited his body. That’s an interesting thought and I might be inclined to say yes. Remember, he was just sleeping upstairs in Sookie’s guest bedroom, so it’s quite possibly that Lafayette could come running down and perform some sort of spell on Tara.
But speaking of Tara, I was shocked that Debbie’s demise left Tara dead as well. In the book, it’s Eric that kills Debbie, is it not? So, this twist took me by surprise and shocked me that a long time character was killed off. As much as I don’t like Tara, I think I will be sad to see her go. UNLESS, she becomes a vampire!
I’m leaning towards Tara not really being gone. I think she’s at death’s door, but the key is, who will save her? Lafayette? Eric or Bill? Russell? Hmmm....
Damn, now I feel sad. Tara, you were not my favorite character but I do hope you are not D.E.A.D. Actually, I hope you get turned into a vampire. You’d be kick ass as a vampire.
And really, that’s just the surface of my comments and questions.
1) What happened with the crystal meth gang from Hot Shot? Why is that literally what they are? A crystal meth gang? I just made that up, and then realized they WERE selling crystal meth. Fuck, I crack myself up.
You know next season cat woman is coming for Jason’s ass. And she will have to cat fight Jessica for him. How exiting....
2) AND Obviously, Russell is now loose and free due to the big hole in the parking garage. First, let’s listen to his theme song, shall we?
Russell has broken the “chains of love” and now he’s ready to fucking party!! What type of awesomeness will he get into next season? I think he will be like the Predator, and Eric and Bill will be like Arnold Schwarzeneggar, running from his little ass, covering themselves in mud.
3) Last, I present the biggest WTF moment from the finale. Pastor Steve Newlin showing up at Jason’s door with some new teeth. Steve Newlin is a vampire? How lame. He’s lame. Is he still a Christian? WTF!!!
And then there are the honorable mentions: Ghost Rene telling Arlene that Terry has some shit that will come back and haunt them--Pam breaking down over Sookie and her fairy vagina and Marnie saying fuck as she agrees to cross over to the other world.
I won’t even comment on Sookie deciding not to be with anyone. That ain’t going to last.
Best character all season: Pam and her one-liners.
Grossest scene: Eric sucking the heart like it’s a V8.
Best concept: Amnesia Eric.

i pretty much agree with your assessment! although in the book, sookie kills debbie and buries her in the woods behind the house. she has a shotgun jason left in her closet or something. i was so ready for the whole marnie storyline to be over. i know they have to keep it action packed enough for tv but between her and marianne last year i'm over it! they were both just annoying characters.
Awe man, it is Sookie that kills Debbie. But Eric was there, right? Oh, well. Slightly different than the book. If I can recall, Debbie has a sister that will come looking for her. Wonder if they will incorporate this next season. I feel like it will be a werewolf/shapeshifter season. OMG, I totally forgot about Andy having relations with that fairy! Will she be pregnant? Or be able to control Andy? All I can say is, what a finale. Sounds like we will have a fun season next year.
Well as you know, I just FINALLY watched the finale last night. Here are my thoughts in no particular or coherent order.
1. Gawd I missed bad boy Eric...so lovely to see him back, but I still sense tenderness about him. Clearly that stems from the fact he's hardcore in love with Sookie.
2. Sookie's indecision isn't going to last. She'll either start fucking both of them or choose once and for all.
3. Tara is not DEAD. Well, she might be, but I think either Lafayette will bring her back to life, or she'll drink Vamp Blood, OR she'll become a vamp.
4. Pam's one liners own me. I was dying laughing when she went on her fairy-vagina-stupid-fucking-name rant...classic.
5. Sad to see Jesus go, but his Bruja shit was gettin' outta hand.
6. Sookie's hair looks so much better than it did the 1st and 2nd season. Plus I see she let her eyebrows darken up a bit and lost the gold tinge to her hair.
7. Sam grosses me out. I wouldn't kiss him if you paid me. Yuck.
8. I love Pam, have I said that yet?
9. Eric is hot enough to make me spontaneously orgasm. That is all.
Loved your post!

Yaaaaaaaaay, TB! Booooooo that it's over until 2012!
I agree with a lot of what you said, and a lot of what Jen said. Having not read the books, I never know what's coming, but I agree that next season will probably be were/shifter heavy. And what kind of mad drama is Scott Foley bringing? I'm sure he's what ghost-Rene was talking about out by the dumpster.
I'm bummed that both Lafayette and Tara (who I refuse to believe is dead & gone forever) can't catch a break in the relationship department. Damn.
Glad the witch season is over - I wasn't a big fan of the main plotline this season.
Hear, hear! to Jen about Sookie's hair - especially toward the end of this season, she looked SO pretty so much of the time. Good styling.
Sigh... is it June yet? ;)
Yes, I read it, I couldn't help myself.
@Twired Jen, Eric has the same effect on me & I seriously love Pam. X
