Friday Wrap-Up and News!

It's Friday and as always, I cannot wait for the weekend to start. Working near the ocean presents challenges and there are days, I am inundated with maintenance issues. But then there are days when I walk by the restaurants and look out on to the water and think, "I live here! How awesome is that!" I've had completely crazy people come into my office and on the other end of the spectrum, shook Barack Obama's hand. Dealing with the public can be demanding at times... So needless to say, I LOVE my weekends. 

So last weekend was my, ahem, birthday and instead of being pissy... I am celebrating life. I want to start by saying thank you to Twilight Cupcake of Twilight, Travel, and Treats for posting a super cute birthday blog post. It is always nice to be remembered. Included in that post were my other three favorite women; Jeanette from Robmusement, kiTT from Tongue-Twied, and Lisa from 17 Forever. Kisses to you all!!

So what did I get for my birthday? 

I have an obsession with perfume. I could be heading out the door, sweats and hair pulled back in a ponytail, no make-up, but still be wearing $100 perfume. That's how I roll! Also, see the rings my husband bought me? Those three rings are a black spade, a red diamond and the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. You have no idea how much I love those rings. The jewelry is designed by Taadaki Wakamatsu and you can find his pieces here, at Q-Pot or at his retail locations. Hey, I have a thing for fairy tales...

So, to recap this week!

I still, for the love of God, have not finished reading American Psycho. It's such a strange book. There is detailed sexcapades, some erotic, some vicious and resulting in murder.... and speaking of murder, I can't even put into words how graphic some of the scenes are.... On another note!

I did preview the movie Peep World, directed by Barry W. Blaustein. You can check out my review by clicking on the title. It was like if the show, Arrested Development married the film, Sideways and had a baby; sometimes super outrageous and hilarious and sometimes super serious. Probably more of a DVD rental, to be honest.  Besides, I hate Sarah Silverman. I don't know why, I just do.

Finally, I just want to extend another shout out to Ian at The Buzzsaw Report. He had written a hilarious piece for my blog titled, Meyer sends Twilight Saga to Libya! “I hope they truly find their Edward”  I had to pass on posting his piece out fear that a Fatwa would be issued against me. But Ian has it posted on his blog and it’s too funny. (He’s braver than I am!) Show him some love and tell him I sent you! 

So what am I listening to this week? Well, besides the Robert Pattinson/Ryan Seacrest interview or the gorgeous new Water For Elephants trailer... I’m obsessed with this song by Adele. Enjoy and have a great weekend!!
