Primarily, this blog is about being a fan and sharing that love that I have, for all things Twilight and True Blood with all of you. I also enjoy blogging about randomness... so don't say I haven't warned you.
That's right! I'm on vacation all next week (and brain has officially turned itself off), so I leave you with all this deliciousness....
Up first! Tongue-Twied has done an amazing job making me look awesome! I triple heart her big time and she knows this. Please show her some love and check out my interview, then hit follow. She runs a brilliant blog! To catch my interview, click here: Interview With A Fairy Tale Writer!
And so I bid you farewell till I return.
Mr. Eric Northman in all his glory, S3 sneak peak.
Taytay taunting me looking extra fit as always.
Must be those beef patties.
No my first name ain't baby.
It's Mr. Lutz, Kellan if you're nasty.
Jasperpantz? I'm impressed.
I love this video because this is exactly what drew me in with the books. My undying affection for Eric Northman. I want nothing more, than for Eric to end up with Sookie. Period.
The next video I chose, is simply because I love the song. My Immortal by Evanescence simply captures so many emotions, I just had to post the video. This is why I love Twilight, because I love Edward and Bella.
I seriously am drowning in drops of blood. Can't keep up with all the True Blood videos...
If only I could glamour the Best Buy guy in to giving me a 52' inch LCD screen for cost. (BTW, is just me, or does Bill look a little more yummier in this video than he normally does. I think I like the hair.)
Vampire Diaries will be airing from the beginning on June 3 (Thursday) 8pm EST. Nows your chance to see it from the beginning. Hit your DVR, pencil it in on your calendars, whatever. This show is loads of fun, and you MUST catch up before the new Season in Fall.
Then guess what? Moonlight will be airing from the beginning, following Vampire Diaries. I have only seen a few episodes of it, so I am more than thrilled to catch up on the beloved Vampire, Mick St. John. Besides, the people that are long time fans of this show, are hard core. That to me, tells me it's worth checking out, and apparently CW thought the same, to be airing it during the summer directly after their own hit Vampire Diaries.
Don't know what Moonlight is? Here's the summary:
Moonlight follows Mick St. John, an immortal vampire and private investigator and his struggle to exist after he was bitten 60 years ago by his vampire bride, Coraline, on their wedding night. It also follows his internal torment as he falls in love with the one he should not, one who is mortal named Beth, a news reporter, as well as his dealings with the woman who made him a vampire, his sire Coraline.
The Pixel Project contacted us via email, asking for our assistance, and in reviewing what this group stands for; we are honored.
So with out further adieu, I will relay Regina Yau's (The Founder of the Pixel Project) own words:
I'm the Founder of The Pixel Project (http://www.thepixelproject.net/) - a global 501 c 3 volunteer-led nonprofit organisation working to end violence against women worldwide.
Our first flagship fundraiser is to raise US$1 million in aid of the USA’s National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Malaysia’s Women’s Aid Organisation. We aim to do this via an online Pixel Reveal fundraiser in which a 1-million pixel mystery collage of 4 to 6 globally known Celebrity Male Role Models will be unveiled online as donors “buy” each pixel for US$1.00.
The Pixel Project chooses to focus on positive male role models from different walks of life is to demonstrate that men have a major role to play in breaking the cycle of violence against women. We want to show that men can lead by example and build successful lives without violence.
As part of efforts to recruit Celebrity Male Role Models for the mystery collage, The Pixel Project has launched our first Voters’ Choice Celebrity Male Role Model campaign through which a worldwide audience votes for an actor to join our A-list line-up which includes a Nobel Prize Winner and a Pulitzer Prize winner.
Alexander Skarsgard is one of the 5 nominees and we hope that you can help us mobilize True Blood and Skarsgard fans on via the True Blood Twilight blog, Facebook page and Twitter to both vote (just 1 click!) and sign the petition (very important!) and spread the word.
Voting is open from 17 May 2010 – 17 June 2010 and True Blood and Alexander Skarsgard fans are invited to key in their vote and sign the online petition here: http://bit.ly/PixelVote.
The two nominees with the most votes will be sent the polling results and the signed petition to invite them to donate JUST 45 MINUTES of their time to have their picture taken for the collage and to join the global community in saying “It’s time to stop Violence Against Women. Together.”
The superstar nominee who accepts the invitation will be revealed through the Pixel Reveal fundraiser which is currently scheduled to be launched in October 2010.
Alex is currently leading in the polls and the petition signature numbers and Team Alex hopes to keep him there right until the campaign's closing date of 17 June 2010!
First up, yeah me! I finally finished Cinderella; A Tale of Lust and to be honest, I know there are fanfic authors that have been doing this a long time, have some stories with freaking 80 something chapters and whatnot, but that’s not me. I only have 20 chapters and it took me five months. It’s my baby, and I’m happy with it. So, as any proud mother would do. I am putting a bumper sticker on the back of my car, I mean, I'm pimping it on my blog.
Second, my daughter and I have started a book and film blog. She’s only 12 but a hard core reader, and a poet believe it or not. So what better way to develop your writing, then to give book reviews. It’s completely harmless over there, and safe for the young readers. So please check us out and um, we’d love for you to follow us over there.
Next up, Sara from Babblingflow is having a contest. Oh, yeah! And guess what she’s giving away? A lot!!! But some of the prizes I’m eyeing... A signed copy of Anne Rice’s The Vampire Armand, A signed copy of the first three Charlaine Harris books, a signed copy of Twilight.
Soooo.... Head here
Now, on to more serious things. Men.
If you haven’t been watching Vampire Diaries, let me assure you. It is definitely for adults. In fact, if you are a True Blood fan, you will love VD. Both writers of the hit CW show, are fans of Twilight and True Blood and it’s evident in their style. Well, maybe a little more True Blood then Twilight, but the show is so freaking fantastically good, that I just can’t keep my mouth shut.
Some people have asked, should I read the books first? No. I have never read the Vampire Diaries and I don’t intend to.
Is there smexy vampires in the show among other creatures? Yes. There are smexy vampires, and in particular; DAMON. Plus the show has witches, and soon to be werewolves.
Those eyebrows will be the death of me.
Can a guy tolerate watching this? Yes. My husband is forced to watch it with me, and has enjoyed it just as much as he enjoys True Blood. VD is on summer break now and will return back in the fall, so this is the perfect time to catch up.
Why is everyone so pretty in Mystic Falls? Because CW Network doesn’t cast ugly people. It’s in the contract.
Can I watch it online for free? Yes, you can watch all the full episodes online; click here.
(Thanks to LuvMeSumEdward for being my twitter VD pusher. She pratically killed me at work with that pic of the Salvatore brothers nibbling on Elena's neck.)
Now to give you a taste of Vampire Diaries, I leave you with a crossover video. Eric Northman meets Damon Salvatore.
We are at day five of our fabulous Rob tour, courtesy of Robmusment. As we draw this crazy and wild train to a halt, we want to give our birthday wishes for Rob.
I wish for you to continue to inspire my dreams.
I wish for you to continue to inspire my blog.
I wish for you to continue to inspire my writing.
I wish for you to continue to bring new twi friends my way.
(FFFOOOORRRKKKS!)
But most of all, I wish that in all this madness, the screams, the pulling, the yelling, the franticness, the anxiety, the early morning shoots, the mass amounts of coffee... I wish that you never lose yourself.
Many thanks are in order, to Robmusment for orchestrating this week long train of blogs, all posting and sharing in the same love. Thank you Rob for being you!
Please check out all the other blogs, whether you comment or not, these gals are all top notch.
Day four of the Rob Tour, stops us here, the point of the entire tour. Robert Thomas Pattinson's Birthday; born May 13, 1986 in London England.
Rob began acting at the age of 15 with the Barnes Theatre Company. Needless, to say, if it weren't for his start there, he may never have had the opporutunity years later to have transformed into what I like to call; the ultimate sparkly vampire. Thank you to Barnes Theatre Company for homing our baby's skills.
You had me the moment you opened this cafeteria door.
I made you a little video... (Um, I tried to find a happy birthday song but then I got side tracked by a Cadillac commercial and went "Oh I like that song!" So um, er, I chose Lovesick just for you.)
Be sure to check out the blogs on this crazy train!
Did you enjoy yesterday's sites? We hope so, as our goal is always to provide you with the utmost comfort and convience here at True Blood Twilight. Today's tour will be dropping off in Emo, where the lovely folks at the visitor board would like to read a poem dedicated to Rob Pattinson. In keeping with the our theme of adoration, today the town of Emo would also like to showcase their favorite song, Glory Box by Portishead.
Here at True Blood Twilight, we are very happy to have you aboard with us. We understand that you could have chosen any tour, but to celebrate Rob Pattinson's birthday, you chose the Rob P. Tour courtesy of Robmusement.
This scenic tour which started yesterday, will take you over breathtaking posts, monumental videos, and spectacular photos all week long. So sit back and relax, as we embark on the second day of our fabulous tour.
As your birthday approaches, I have to wonder. If I knew you, had the opportunity to give my gift direct to you. What would it be?
To be honest, there is nothing that I could buy that could show my love for you.
There is nothing I could create, that could show how much you've inspired me.
There is nothing I could whisper, that explains how you've touched me.
In all...
Be sure to check out these other great blogs participating in the Rob Train.
Robmusement has orchestrated a week long event in commemoration of Rob's Birthday. We are honored to be included in her list of fifteen great blogs, all working to post each day something exciting and fun. Be sure to check back with us each day! *gasp* His birthday, for those who don’t know, is May 13; Our boy is turning the big 24!
With out further adieu, I give you Rob the Adorkable Musician!
When I first watched How To Be, I have to admit, I was not fond of his... inabilities. But I do admit, that I love Rob, and thus, I embrace his character Art as the adorkable musician.
Lately with clever fanfics such as Daniel Gale, who doesn't love an inexperienced englishman just waiting for an American woman to show him the ropes. Oh, wait that was my dream. Seriously, read Daniel Gale, it's hilarious and reminds me of an extention of actually Art's character as well.
Let's start by watching a clip of the funniest scenes from How To Be. (Btw, watch Rob's feet as they curl inward towards each other. Somebody analyze body language!)
Side note; My 10 year old loves this song and if you remind her, she'll sing it all night. ALL NIGHT! "Choking on the dust... Choking on the dust... Choking on the dust..."
All joking aside, I love Rob as a musician.
Here is Rob playing I was broken in December 2007. He is a powerful and emotional singer. This footage shows how completely encapsulated he is by his own words. He may not think much of his own musical career, but I'll tell you what, he moves me. I am very touched by his performance and I hope that one day Rob can actually sit down and return to his musical roots, because he is brilliant.
This was Rob and I after a jam session in 06. Things got a bit crazy that night. It's the whole musician thing.
By the way, Rob made Hollywood's Most Influential Top Unexpected Musicians Database, debuted by NAMM. *whew, that was a mouthful* Congrats Rob! To read more about it, check it out here.
The second mini episode has been released this week and keep in mind this clip has cursing, the excessive use of the word dirty whore and finally to top it all off, blasphemy. Regardless, it's kinda funny.
(Thank you VaultTrueBlood for giving us an embedded copy!)
Next....
Ooh La La.... We love us some Ryan. We spotted this over at Trueblood-News and had to share. Ryan is featured in Glamour magazine. To see more pics, head here.
Nice biceps!
Yes, please!
Btw, who's picked up their copy of Dead In The Family yet?? Watcha ya think? Is it Ridonkulous? Or is everything you've ever dreamed of since you were a little girl? Let me know if you've read it... and you can tell me, any juice Eric loving going on?? This book is on my next book run!
I think for the next few months, I will replace Jesus, Mickey Mouse and my mother, with the new Breaking Dawn director's name Bill Condon.
That right, now I will think. But what would Bill Condon do?
So, many of you have read his letter. If not, find it here on Facebook: Bill's Letter
The most important aspect of his letter btw; P.S. Answer #1: No, there won't be any musical numbers
*swipes forehead* That's good, cause Michael Jackson's Thriller should be the only paranormal musical, ever! No need to make anymore. (Unless Count Chocula is in it)
As you all know, I did not pick him as my choice for BD director. I chose Sophia. But that is water under the bridge, and I will just have to deal.
So let's study his work, shall we? After all, Bill has the most important book of them all, so he better not fuck it up.
First up, let's look at his body of directorial work.
Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? (2011) (pre-production)
"The Big C" (2010) TV series (unknown episodes)
Dreamgirls (2006)
Kinsey (2004)
"The Others" (1 episode, 2000)
Gods and Monsters (1998)
Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995)
The Man Who Wouldn't Die (1994) (TV)
Deadly Relations (1993) (TV)
Dead in the Water (1991) (TV)
White Lie (1991) (TV)
Murder 101 (1991) (TV)
Sister, Sister (1987)
Mostly tv shows, but we'll focus on the few movies that he's got under his belt.
Candyman
The Candyman moves on to New Orleans and starts his horrific murders once more. This time, his intended victim is a school teacher. Her father was killed by the Candyman, and brother wrongly accused of the murders.
Frankly, I hated all the Candyman movies. What a stupid plot, and a stupid character. I am a huge horror fan, but this movie just sucked. I don't think this movie gives me an idea of how Bill intends to bring the scare factor in to play.
Gods and Monsters
The story of James Whale, the director of Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), in the time period following the Korean War. Whale is homosexual and develops a friendship with his gardener, an ex-Marine.
Set in 1957, James Whale, the director of Show Boat (1936), _Invisible Man, The (1933)_ , Frankenstein (1931), and Bride of Frankenstein (1935), had long since stepped back from the glamor and glitz of Hollywood. A stroke triggers once buried flashes of memory of his life in Dudley, his film career, and, most influentially, the trenches during the Great War. Haunted and lonely, he recounts many of his experiences to his musclebound gardener, Clay Boone. Despite the divide that exists between them, their friendship develops. Reliant on his sternly disapproving housemaid, Hannah, the flamboyant director whose time has passed sees himself slipping away, unable to stop the decline, and indulges his fantasies by coaxing Boone to model for him.
You know, I have a thing for Brendon Fraser and even though he is looking his age these days, he's a great actor and completely underrated. What can I say, I remember the movie faintly, but in 1998, I was just giving birth to my second child and probably couldn't have appreciated the content to this movie. The trailer does look interesting and the movie brought home 32 wins, and 23 nominations.
Based on this movie, I expect Bill to bring the depth that BD needs. This, I like. I will give Bill props and expect a lot of his characters.
Dreamgirls
Detroit, the early 1960s. Curtis Taylor, Jr., a car salesman, breaks into the music business with big dreams. He signs a trio of 18-year-olds, the Dreamettes, gets them a job backing an R&B performer, James "Thunder" Early, establishes his own record label and starts wheeling and dealing. When Early flames out, Curtis makes the Dreamettes into headliners as the Dreams, but not before demoting their hefty big-voiced lead singer, Effie White, and putting the softer-voiced looker, Deena Jones, in front. Soon after, he fires Effie, sends her into a life of proud poverty, and takes Deena and the Dreams to the top. How long can Curtis stay there, and will Effie ever get her due?
Now I haven't seen this movie, but we are all aware of the awards this movie has won. With that being said, what I gather from the trailer, it seems like Bill is good at taking an otherwise mundane script/plot scenario and making them glamorous and exciting.
So in conclusion, I'm well aware that past work is a learning curve. We grow from our mistakes, but taking into account the amount of awards that Bill has accumulated for his work with Gods and Monsters and Dreamgirls, it is safe to say... I have taken back my comments. I look forward to Bill's interpretation of BD, and if Jacob comes out signing one fucking number, I will shank someone at Summit.
Btw, I think I may even go back and watch Gods and Monsters.
