So What Happened to Breaking Dawn?

Ok, first, did you have a good New Year’s Eve? Here in Hawaii, it’s legal to shoot fireworks and it’s also an Asian/Hawaiian tradition to light shit up hardcore at midnight and allow the smoke to penetrate through your home, to ward off any evil spirits. This causes our island to officially fall off radar from midnight to about 12:30am (Ok, I just made that up, but it could be true). So for us, it feels like a bad scene out of ‘Nam, or WWII (Okay, I’ve never experienced war, but New Year’s in Hawaii, is as about as close to action as I’ll get). People spend thousands on fireworks and I mean the kind that you launch in the air! So don’t mind me, I’m just allergic to severe amounts of Sulfur and don’t mind that I can’t fucking see shit when I drive home because of all the smoke. But other than that! Happy New Year and Hello 2010! It seems January is already up my ass, and for some reason I feel really busy. No rest for dirty whores like me! Damn it!

So anyway, I was thinking. Where are we with BD? Are they still discussing whether it should be spit into two movies? I’m thinking I’m okay with it being filmed as one. I definitely want the Honeymoon scene, to be detailed! That’s it. I don’t care what you do with the rest. I know how the story goes. I just want my honeymoon scene.

So let me tell you who I want to direct this final installment. Ready? Guillermo Del Toro. Wait! I know! Hellboy II is not his fault. Don’t blame him for that. What I want you to check out is Pan’s Labyrinth. This is how I know Guillermo can film all the elements, that BD possesses. If you’re not familiar with the movie, let me tell you about it.

First of all, it won three academy awards; cinematography, makeup, and art direction. This man is brilliant, btw! Don’t you think those are important aspects that would be great towards the making of BD? I do.

Pan’s Labryrinth is a gothic fairy tale set in 1944 and told through the eyes of a little girl. It is about her journey with her mother, to meet her now, new step-father. Her mother, pregnant, with the step-father’s child, loses her life shortly after, to illness. The step-farther is a very cruel man, and is heading a civil war, in Spain. During this war, the little girl, is not really welcomed by her new guardian. However, she is soon confronted by mythical creatures and the just of the story is, without her mother, whom can she trust? The man that does not love her, or the creatures, asking her to show her allegiance and fulfill a prophecy? In the end, the story is terribly tragic, and the little girl must protect her baby brother, from anyone, or any creature, that means to do him harm. Even if it means, death. *wipes tear*

It’s such a good movie, I just love it and I love Guillermo! I want him to direct Breaking Dawn, like BAD! So, I shall silently hope that he will hear my prayers, even though I believe he’s busy with The Hobbit (Fuck how long has it been? Shit! What’s another year?)

Do you have any favorite directors? What do you think?

Just got done watching my video for the 5th time. *sigh*

I've never seen that movie. I know that my son has. I'll have to remember to ask him about it.

Of course, when I here Guillermo these days, I can't help but think of Jimmy Kimmel's talk show. LOL!

Night!

THANK YOU!

I have watched this movie too many times to count and when i try and explain to people why i like it they look at me as if a penis has just appeared on my head.

It's so dark and yet beautiful at the same time, i would be honoured for Guillermo Del Toro to direct Breaking Dawn. He would bring a whole new light (or darkness) to the Twilight Saga.

Uh I have no clue about BD and it bothers me a bit. I'm sure as hell they gonna make BD but I think the problem is that all actors just signed for 4 movies and not for 5 and yes it will get expensive now. That's what I read, but it's nothing more than gossip!

I want two movies! Because this will also gives us time having an excuse for our addiction...

I'm a fan of oddity films and Pan's Labyrinth is truly one of the most beautiful and well done foreign films there is(next to maybe Amelie) I cry like a baby every time I watch it lol so yes I agree that if they chose him I would not be upset because he does so well with weird and we all know that BD is weird

Haven't heard whether they decided on one or two films yet, either. I haven't seen Pan's Labyrinth yet either, though it is on my DVR I believe. It looks so good.

Kaleb Nation was the first that I heard of, to mention Guillermo for Breaking Dawn. I really think Guillermo is too busy with the Hobbit to be considered but if he moved his schedule around, he'd be the absolute favorite choice for this undertaking. I think BD has it's challenges, and Guillermo would make an excellent choice for director. Considering how fucking awesome Pan's Labyrinth is.

As for Pan's Labyrinth, I think I went into complete shock at the ending, then understood it's purpose. It's a really good movie!

I haven't heard of that movie, but the trailer looks amazing. I didn't see any romance in it. Does it have that in the movie? I'm a total sucker for the romance in twilight *sigh*. It's funny how you mentioned the hobbit. I watched the LotR trilogy again last week and couldn't help but wonder 'are they still working on the effin'hobbit or what?'.

I'm sorry but BD was such a disappointment for me I havn't even considered this question. I hate to say but when I read the imprinting one of my first thoughts was Woody Allen & his step daughter *shudder*. Sorry.
I have heard that Pans Labyrinth is a must see but sadly I havn't yet but he would make it into something amazing, which it needs. I personally don't want 2 movies just a VERY detailed honeymoon but sadly I think we have 2 hopes-buckleys & nun.

I want Breaking Dawn like I want to watch, but not really, the injury car accident on the freeway. I can't not look but I am so fucking scared of what I will see. BD was a disappointment for me too....if they focus on the wedding, Isle Esme (LOTS of focus here please...no fade to black....lots of half naked frolicking on the beach and in the bed please), not so much on Renesmee (have I mentioned how much I hate that effing name?), and more on Bella's training and the showdown with the Volturi....maybe it will be passable. Maybe there is some creative way they can make the imprinting thing less creepy.

When they heck are they going to announce something. Those actors are not getting any younger. Rob is just going to keep getting hairier....which is fine with me...he is all man. Yum! See I mention Rob and it is like the bright shiny penny on the sidewalk...I have to go there and pick it up and fondle it.

HG--hugs and kisses to you girl. Mwah!

Allan Ball should direct Breaking Dawn. Pretend he didn’t do True Blood. Remember his work in Six Feet Under, American Beauty. He is capable or re-imagining the book and taking it to its natural, mature progression. He's my choice...'course he is a little busy right now.
